Double GlazingTimber Double glazing is the ideal choice when building or renovating. It helps to keep your home warm in winter and cool in summer with the Huge added benefit of minimising noise. Choosing Timber Joinery with Double glazing is a wise choice.
It will out-preform all other types of exterior Joinery and add greater value to your home or business. A double-glazed window is made up of two panes of glass separated by a gas-filled sealed space The sealed space between the two panes of glass acts as an added layer of insulation, reducing the amount of heat escaping in winter and having the reverse effect in summer by preventing unwanted heat from entering your home, ultimately reducing your energy costs. At Commercial Joinery all of our custom-made windows and doors are available double glazed, including our specialised double-hung windows, casement windows, french doors, Bi-fold windows and doors and sliding Windows and Doors. Low E Double glazing Low emissivity “E” glass is a High end addition to double glazing . Low E glass has a thin, transparent metal coating applied to the glass surface which reduces the rate heat enters or escapes a building. The coating on the glass reflects radiant heat back to the source so that the heat created within a building reflects back into the building, making it more energy efficient. Low E Double Glazing is suitable for use in any climate and is available in clear or tinted glass to ensure it complements the look of your project. Obscure Glazing Obscure glazing is most commonly used in areas where people want to let light in, but wish to maintain a certain level of privacy such as in a front door or bathroom window. It is usually smooth on one side and textured on the other to diffuse light and obscure the view. There is a range of obscure or decorative glass to choose from, including textured, patterned and fully opaque glass. All are great keeping unwanted eyes out. Leadlights and Double Glazing Have existing Leadlights? No worries - these can be Reconditioned and resized to fit in the middle of the double glazing. This both protects the leadlight, and keeps the character of your home. A "lead came" can also be applied to both sides of a piece of class. to give the illusion of multi-lite leadlights. Retrofit Double glazing We do not cut corners and route out existing sashes as these are not designed for the extra weight and thickness of double glazing. All Commercial Joinery doors and sashes are made new and engineered to take the weight and size of our High performance Double glazing. Each sash or door is made to measure, wet glazed, and fitted by our craftsmen to existing frames. Route in draft seals are fitted to all opening sashes, along with 316 stainless steel hinges All Standard sashes and doors are made from Hand selected vertical grain Cedar clears.
